Amsterdam Airport Schiphol attracts 45 million passengers a year and employs over 64,000 people, which Schiphol lovingly call its “inhabitants”. The past few years, the airport noticed a change in the way that people work. An increased number of inhabitants showed a need to communicate with like-minded people from other companies in the area. Both on- and offline. To help help them out, a community platform was built, aimed at bringing together everyone who works in the Schiphol area www.spotschiphol.nl Annick Oosterlee, community manager at Spot Schiphol, has been with the platform from the beginning and will talk about the challenges of building an online community that is closely tied to an offline location.
